Seasearch Marine Life ID Course
A back to school special from our friends at seasearch. Note that this course can also cover the Marine Life ID BSAC sticker as well, if you want to register it for a few pounds more.
This highly popular course gives an introduction to the various plant and animal species you are likely to encounter in UK and Irish waters. Specifically aimed at divers, no prior experience of marine biology is required. The course includes lectures on different animal and plant groups and provides information on how to identify what you are seeing underwater. Shore and diving collections give you a chance to practice your field ID skills with tutors on hand, and specimens from these are identified in lab practical sessions. The course finishes with a visit to Exploris Aquarium - a good chance to practice your fish ID. Course cost £50.

The BSAC Coaching Scheme
The BSAC coaching scheme is designed to provide direct technical support to members through their branches and through regionally organised courses and events. The UK and Ireland are covered by a team of regional coaches and their team of area coaches and other support staff. The BSAC Ireland regional coaching team plans and provides a range of courses and events to further support diver training and developing interests within this region. The BSAC Ireland area coaches are available to visit branches to offer advice and training to help support the branches and their members.
