Down Greg works in Dublin, and is still actively involved with the Queen's club and can be found most Saturdays around the Alastor!
"I have very conservative aims for the region. My first aim is to offer as varied a programme of SDC events to the clubs in the region. My second aim is to establish a good strong regional team with varied interests for a variety of clubs. And finally I want to improve communications within the Region and also with Headquarters. I would encourage all divers in the region to feel free to join the team, even if you can only spare one weekend a year every, little bit of help makes things better for all. I would be delight to receive any help at all! Finally I would like to thank Sam & Barbara for all there hard work over the last few years."
If you would like to get involved with the region send an e-mail to Greg and don't forget to subscribe to the BSAC Ireland Smartgroups.

There are few places in the world that can compete with the dramatic scenery and excellent marine life off the north and west coast. Every time you roll off the boat is an adventure as you never know what you might find.” Click here to email
Franklyn - Regional Skill Development Course Officer
Today Franklyn holds an Advanced Diver and an Advanced Instructor ticket. After finishing his basic diver training with PADI, he joined a BSAC branch . As this branch can only provide basic diver training, he started availing of the regional team and the local BSAC school to qualify as an advanced diver and then advanced instructor. In return of the help and assistance received he has now joined the BSAC Regional Team for Ireland where he is looking forward to supporting other members and branches in their training needs.
You can find him out diving all year round, mainly along the north coast but he is always on the lookout for vacant seats on diving boats...

Keith Farrell- Technical and First Class Diver Organiser
Keith is BSAC First Class Diver(FCD) and a qualified Trimix diver. Keith started to dive in 1996 while on holiday and completed training as a sports diver before joining Newry and Mourne Sub-Aqua club in 1998. He has served as Dive Officer there for the last three years. Newry was always a club that dived 12 months of the year but was weak in the area of training, operating for many years without an instructor. Newry club has benfited from his involvement on the First Class Diver programme as Keith was encouraged to take his instructors course after completing FCD by his fellow canditates all of whom were advanced instructors. This he did in 2004. Club members have benefited as he has assisted members of the club gain skill development courses and further diver grades. Other club members are now embarking on the road as instructors. Keith will be keen to assist others in the preparation for first class diver. Having come through the preparation myself I can only say that the challenges you must master will make your diving safer and more enjoyable while preparing you to take on the most challenging diving that Ireland can offer.
Andrew Thomson- Communications Manager and Webmaster
Andrew is an Advanced Diver and Instructor with Dublin University Sub-Aqua Club. He started to dive in 2000 and hasn't looked back since (to his bank managers disgust). He has held the postions of membership secretary, treasurer and training officer for his club, and is still wondering how he got sucked into the regional team (thanks Greg). An avid wreck diver, he is happiest when sticking his head into one of the thousands of shipwrecks that are dotted around Ireland.Andrew is responsible for updating this website and managing the regional mailing list.
